Hair Help - Dip Dye Gone Wrong!

With the new trend of dip dyes and the 'home dip dye kits' it's not wonder there's a mass of them out there that look a little less ombre and a little more bad color grow out!
Fear no longer, fixing a dip dye isn't as easy as it was to put in but it's not the end of the world either! Your best bet being truely honest is - go and see a proffessional. Correcting a dip dye comes under color correction and although being pricey, you'll end up with a much better result and learn a lesson in home dying!

I had a client come to me who had been given a dip dye she was hardly thrilled with. It was blocky and not very ombre at all!

This was a challenge to say the least, where the hair was such different colors it was hard to be able to simply drag the blonde up or her natural color down!

This isn't going to be a tutorial on how to fix your dip dye, you truely need to get proffesional hairdressers to sort this out, it's very easy to make it look a whole lot worse!
With my client I had to bring her natural color down into the blonde to try and break up the blockyness. I basically sectioned her hair off and drew lines in various thicknesses and lengths into the blonde to try to break up the line.
Once the brown was done we cracked out the bleach and basically done 'mini' highlights through out her hair. Like the brown we had to do different thicknesses and lengths to ensure it didn't end up blocky again!

The end result was one the client and myself were very happy with!

At the end of the day DON'T PANIC!
I know hairdressers can be expensive but going to get something drastic will always be cheaper than having to go for color correction!
If you still want to give you home ombre a go, make sure you have someone there to help who can ensure it is kept uneven and doesn't turn out blocky!

Until next time!
